Sermon for 21st Sunday after Trinity 2025

Prepared for Battle Ephesians 6:10-17   Grace to you and peace from God our Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.   When I was younger, I dreamt about being a knight. Some of you had such a fantasy. A garbage can lid as a shield and a yard stick as a sword. Maybe even tin foil covered cardboard made armor to wear. I’d picture myself in full armor gleaming brightly astride my black charger, riding boldly into battle to fight the evil hordes so good might triumph.   Our text tells us to be dressed in full armor, prepared to stand against Satan and his hordes.   My friends, we are at war – a spiritual conflict of cosmic proportions. Christians are being killed, often by Muslims. Some are beheaded for believing in Christ. It is especially bad in Nigeria. What about here in the U.S. of A.? God is the giver of life, begining life in His image in the womb. Yet there are more abortions taking place now than under Roe -vs- Wade. Those who fight for the ...
